I can’t connect my Canon MiniDV player to the computer…Help.?
Posted by admin | Under Canon Optura Camcorder Tuesday Mar 2, 2010I have a Canon Optura 30 MiniDV camcorder. I have been previously able to connect to the computer and download the videio via a firewire cable. I did yesterday. After the download and some editing, I installed a trial version of winAVI to convert from AVI to DVD and noticed that there’s a watermark when writing, so I canceled and removed the program. Since then I’ve not been able to connect to the computer with the camcorder. The computer does not recognize that that it’s connected.
any thoughts?
Thanks
Try going to Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager. Expand the IEEE1394 Bus host controllers, right click on your firewire card and uninstall it. Switch your PC off, connect your camcorder, switch it on and reboot the PC.
unistall everything, shut down then reinstall it when your done shut down again and when you restart it should work well. it sounds as though to corrupted the files. dont worry this is easely done remember when your working with a Canon you must always return to the section you were working in in order to advance. we all make that mistake, take your time and write down the area your in it should be good. Idf this doesnt work then try this.follow the steps.
if you have xp go to start, programs, accesories, system tools, then system restore. it will ask you to chose a date the computer worked well follow the instructions. it will put you back on the road then dont do anything else when your downloading or you will corrupt your video files. if it happens again just try this stuff. good luck
